BITE AND ARTICULATION (TMJ)

In our clinic we diagnose and treat dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint and the surrounding musculature.

By designing customised splints we protect the teeth from chronic wear and tear, and prevent and avoid chronic degeneration of the joint. By distributing the occlusal forces (the bite contacts) the musculature is relaxed and the optimal range of muscular movement is restored.

We are dentists specialising in TMJ from the Dawson School of Dentistry and we treat these pathologies with multidisciplinary therapy with a physiotherapist specialising in TMJ.

Advantages of bite treatment

The treatment of these ailments by means of night splints provides a greater feeling of rest, waking up totally relaxed.

In most cases, it relieves muscle contraction and tension in the neck and provides relief from headaches and earaches.

In addition, it dissipates joint inflammation, protects teeth from wear and tear and protects the surrounding tissues from recession and abfractions.
